Fun with Random Stuff

Logan seems to be fascinated with household objects.  He always has.  The potato masher is a crane.  The cabinets look like a train.  You get the idea.  Recently he's been interested in things that are typical household items and wants to know more about what the items are used for.

As I was looking through unpacked boxes downstairs (yes I know, we've lived here for over a year) I found some votive candles.  Logan was fascinated by them.  He took them out of the candle holders, rolled them on the craft table and finally he decided it was time for me to light them.  I got out what we affectionately call the "clicker" and Paul, Logan and I spent hours lighting the candles while Logan stared at the light, noticing the change in color from blue to orange, to finally blowing out the candles.  "I like to do this over and over" he said.  And so, we did.

He wanted us to "tell a story", one of his fave phrases these days, about why the smoke rises when the candle goes out.  He wanted to know all about the wax (or what he called the "wack") and the wick.  The questions just kept a'comin.  I know that some complain about the "why" questions of a 3 year old but I absolutely love them.  His curiosity is amazing, I'm learning a ton along with him and they keep me on my toes!
